Method: Line two oven trays with baking paper and preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Use a small saucepan to combine the  butter, sugar and golden syrup. Stir these ingredients over low heat until fully melted. Once combined, transfer the ingredients to a large mixing bowl. Beat the mixture until it attains a light fluffy texture (electric beaters are preferred), then allow the mixture to cool a little. Gently sift the flour, cinnamon, ginger and soda together, then fold them into the original mixture. Make sure that the spices are well combined into the mixture. Then gently roll the mixture into tablespoon sized balls.  Arrange the balls on the  trays, leaving space between each ball. Use a fork to slightly flatten each ball. Bake the biscuits for between 12 and 15 minutes  with a fork until  they turn golden. Remove them from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
